As visitors walk by detailed depictions of Prehistoric scenery, they’ll encounter the fossils of four Antarctic dinosaur species, including the 25-foot-long Cryolophosaurus. They’ll also get to handle real tools that paleontologists use to extract fossils from the frozen landscape, and learn about the ever-changing climate and geology on the continent. Whether you choose the All-Access or Discovery Pass, there’s no way you’ll miss Máximo the Titanosaur, which is the biggest dinosaur scientists have discovered to date. The touchable cast was modeled from fossils excavated in Argentina, and form a skeleton that stands 28 feet tall and stretches 122 feet across Stanley Field Hall. Here are a few other attractions you might want to check out: Underground Adventure: Giant bugs, worms, and plant organisms present a view of life at 1/100th the size of an ordinary human. Mummies: This exhibition showcases 14 Peruvian and Egyptian mummies, along with their intricately decorated masks and coffins. It also relies on CT scanning and 3D data to reveal the human lives behind the gilded coffins and once-mysterious bundles. Cyrus Tang Hall of China: Explore a culture of deep tradition and dynamic change and travel across thousands of years of history of one of the world’s most influential civilizations The Griffin Dinosaur Experience, made possible by the generous support of the Kenneth C.Griffin Charitable Fund, includes a special traveling exhibition, Antarctic Dinosaurs; Máximo the Titanosaur; updates to SUE and the Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet; and new dinosaur education programs.
